Dr. Rooney received her medical degree from New York's Albany Medical College in 1995. Her B.S. is a double major in Biology and Studio Arts from Union College in Schenectady, New York. She was both Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa during her undergraduate studies.
She is certified by the American Board of Family Practice and has a special interest in preventative medicine. Prior to joining the Gunbarrel Medical Center, she practiced family medicine in Niwot, and served as a consultant for a medical information web site. Dr. Rooney is a member of the American Association of Family Practitioners and the Colorado Association of Family Practitioners. Dr. Rooney is married and has three sons and twin daughters.
